Overview:

The high-capacity TS-855X has six 3.5-inch SATA drive bays (for HDDs), two 2.5-inch SATA drive bays (for SSDs) and an 8-core processor supporting Intel® QuickAssist Technology (QAT), greatly assisting businesses in deploying a data storage and virtualization environment. The built-in 10GbE/2.5GbE high-speed connectivity helps realize fast data access, backup/restoration, file server, and virtualization applications. Running the QTS operating system as standard, the TS-855X can be switched to use the ZFS-based QuTS hero operating system based on your requirements. The TS-855X will be available and supported by QNAP for an extended period (up to 2027), ideal for businesses requiring matching NAS models deployed in long-term projects.

Note:

QTS and QuTS hero use different file systems. You must remove all the drives from the TS-855X before switching from QTS to QuTS hero.
QuTS hero requires a NAS with at least 8 GB memory.
Inline Data Deduplication requires a NAS with at least 16 GB memory (at least 32 GB memory is recommended for optimal performance).
It is recommended to create an SSD RAID with at least two SSDs for the QuTS hero system drive to attain optimal system performance. Please note that M.2 SSD hot-swapping is only supported by M.2 SSD slots on PCIe cards (such as the QM2). M.2 SSD slots that are built into the NAS do not support hot-swapping.
